Garlic - heads

Garlic - heads

Fresh has a strong, spicy flavour that mellows and sweetens considerably with cooking.  While cooking softens the flavour, roasting gives garlic a well balanced, delicate, nutty flavour.  Garlic is used in all cuisines across the world.  Use raw or sauteed and added to soups, sauces, and stir-fries.  Garlic pairs perfectly with onions, tomatoes, chili, ginger, turmeric, beans, meats.

Garlic offers an excellent source of manganese and vitamin B6, a very good source of vitamin C and copper, and a good source of selenium, phosphorus, B1, and calcium.  However, it's the sulfur compounds in garlic that serve as its spotlight nutrients in terms of overall health benefits.  The sulfur-containing compounds in garlic provide us with health advantages in a wide variety of body systems including our cardiovascular system, immune system, inflammatory system, digestive system, endocrine system, and detoxification system.
