One of the oldest vegetables known to man, cabbage is thought to have originated in the eastern Mediterranean and Asia Minor.  A member of the brassica family, cabbage offers a mild, sweet and peppery flavour that is best used raw or lightly sauteed, steamed or stir-fried.


Nutrition:  Cabbage is rich in vitamins C, K, & B-complex and minerals such as iodine, calcium, magnesium, potassium, and iron. It has also been shown to help lower cholesterol levels by working with bile acids in the digestive process to remove cholesterol from the blood.
